In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION, which included the work Portrait of Lord Tweedsmuir, reading in a study by Douglas Anderson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,303.05), 30% above the upper estimate. With this result, Portrait of Lord Tweedsmuir, reading in a study is even the most expensive work of art by Douglas Anderson that we have observed at auctions so far.
