The work Cheetah, chasing buck by Dylan Lewis was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd auction at Christies in London in December 2011. It achieved a price of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,612.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 24%. Admittedly, works by Dylan Lewis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking Cheetahs in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 301,000.00 (€ 204,929.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cheetah, chasing buck von Dylan Lewis wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 44.612,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 24%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dylan Lewis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walking Cheetahs im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 301.000,00 (€ 204.929,19).
