Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection, which included the work The Turkey Hunter by Eanger Irving Couse. The »bidding war« ended at USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39), 21% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eanger Irving Couse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Thunder Birds, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 819,000.00 (€ 715,783.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Turkey Hunter von Eanger Irving Couse zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eanger Irving Couse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Thunder Birds beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für USD 819.000,00 (€ 715.783,95) versteigert wurde.
