The »bidding war« ended at GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,778.33), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edouard Pingret have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indio Con Traje De Gala En Puesto De Comida in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 302,500.00 (€ 232,049.71).
