It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,276.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Admittedly, works by Édouard Cortès have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 73,000.00.

Die Arbeit Place De La République, Paris von Édouard Cortès wurde im Januar 2016 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.276,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Édouard Cortès auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 73.000,00.
