Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Edvard Munch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July last year. In the Modern Discoveries auction, the work Vampire II (Schiefler 34; Woll 41) sold for USD 163,800.00 (€ 160,556.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edvard Munch erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Discoveries wurde die Arbeit Vampire II (Schiefler 34; Woll 41) für USD 163.800,00 (€ 160.556,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
