Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work St. Benet'S Abbey, Norfolk by Edward Seago. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,098.10) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Seago have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Household Cavalry in the Mall in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit St. Benet'S Abbey, Norfolk von Edward Seago zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.098,10) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Seago auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Household Cavalry in the Mall im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 196.213,48).
