Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Royal Yacht 'Fairy' in Portsmouth Harbour by Edward Duncan for GBP 630.00 (€ 746.94). This price was achieved in the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Duncan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tantallon Castle, Coast of Haddingtonshire in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 26,109.34).
