Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beetles on a gall by Edward Julius Detmold was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,684.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Julius Detmold have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,409.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Beetles on a gall von Edward Julius Detmold kam im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.684,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Julius Detmold auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.409,15).
