Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work A Hunter Outside A Stable by Edward Seago. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 6,826.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Seago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Household Cavalry in the Mall in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Hunter Outside A Stable von Edward Seago zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 6.826,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Seago erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Household Cavalry in the Mall im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 196.213,48).
