Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Steichen could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MoMA: Pictorialism into Modernism auction, the work Greta Garbo, 1928 changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,975.45) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Steichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flatiron in November last year with an auction result of USD 11,840,000.00 (€ 11,469,534.05).
