In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Bella Venezia by Edward William Cooke. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 209,600.00 (€ 311,262.56), 40% above the upper estimate. With this result, Bella Venezia is even the most expensive work of art by Edward William Cooke that we have observed at auctions so far.
