In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Preparing to set off by Edwin Cooper. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,624.15), 73% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edwin Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A foxhound and her litter, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,493.84).

Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Preparing to set off von Edwin Cooper zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.624,15) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edwin Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A foxhound and her litter beobachtet, die im November 2003 für GBP 9.400,00 (€ 13.493,84) versteigert wurde.
