This artwork by Eileen Agar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2020. In the The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer auction, the work The Blue Mask sold for GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,352.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eileen Agar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taking Aim in April this year with an auction result of HKD 176,400.00 (€ 180,138.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eileen Agar erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer wurde die Arbeit The Blue Mask für GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.352,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eileen Agar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Taking Aim im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 180.138,91).
