Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A gentleman, half length in a coat and partially buttoned waistcoat, white cravat by Elizabeth Emma Soyer was sold in the Objects of Vertu and Portrait Miniatures auction at Christies in London in October 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 293.75 (€ 464.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Emma Soyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The escape: a young girl with a bird cage in July this year with an auction result of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 161,704.19).
