Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Pilgrims by Elsie Driggs. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,394.00 (€ 2,043.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elsie Driggs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lilacs, which sold at auction in September 2019 for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,585.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pilgrims von Elsie Driggs zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.394,00 (€ 2.043,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elsie Driggs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lilacs beobachtet, die im September 2019 für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.585,05) versteigert wurde.
