In April last year Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Modern & Contemporary Auction, which included the work Zwei Männer (Two Men) by Emil Nolde. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 56,700.00 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emil Nolde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Herbstmeer XVI in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,344,500.00 (€ 6,305,915.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Köln die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zwei Männer (Two Men) von Emil Nolde zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 56.700,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emil Nolde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Herbstmeer XVI im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.344.500,00 (€ 6.305.915,69).
