Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Emile Claus could be acquired at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century Paintings & Contemporary Art auction, the work Flowergarden Villa Zonneschijn, Astene changed hands for EUR 78,750.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emile Claus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vue sur Murano, lueur du couchant in February 2018 with an auction result of GBP 596,750.00 (€ 674,111.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emile Claus konnte im Dezember 2010 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century Paintings & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Flowergarden Villa Zonneschijn, Astene für EUR 78.750,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emile Claus auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vue sur Murano, lueur du couchant im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 596.750,00 (€ 674.111,01).
