This artwork by Émile Munier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work The Flower Girl sold for USD 23,125.00 (€ 17,716.23) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Munier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Sauvetage (The Rescue) in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 336,000.00 (€ 397,397.99).
