The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ernest-Louis Lessieux have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2004 the work A Young Beauty Paddling By The Dunes, The Ile D' Oléron was auctioned for GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,093.37).

Die Arbeit Marché Aux Oranges von Ernest-Louis Lessieux kam im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
