In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work A lucky throw by Erwin Eichinger. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,155.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A lucky throw is the most expensive artwork by Erwin Eichinger that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit A lucky throw von Erwin Eichinger zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.155,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A lucky throw das teuerste Kunstwerk von Erwin Eichinger, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
