Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian the Slave Merchant by Fabio Fabbi was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 63,176.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fabio Fabbi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tambourine Dance in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 363,200.00 (€ 302,792.83).
