Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Delirium Of Becoming, A Moment Caught Between Myth And History, No.1 by Farhad Ahrarnia was auctioned at Sothebys in Dubai in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,903.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Farhad Ahrarnia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beautiful is the Silent of the Ruins VI, which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,068.56).
