The work Calligraphic Couplet by Feng Yuxiang was worth USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,118.53) to a buyer in March 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Feng Yuxiang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Clerical Script sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 49,379.58).
