Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Ballerina by Fernando Botero was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2008. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 361,000.00 (€ 232,005.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ballerina von Fernando Botero wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 361.000,00 (€ 232.005,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
