Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Caballo by Fernando Botero was sold in the Latin American Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2002. Here, the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 229,500.00 (€ 245,743.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Caballo von Fernando Botero wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion Latin American Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 229.500,00 (€ 245.743,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
