This artwork by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012. In the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Seascape sold for HKD 680,000.00 (€ 67,695.63) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Seascape für HKD 680.000,00 (€ 67.695,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93).
