The work Under The Mango Tree by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo was worth HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 133,789.66) to a buyer in April 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 320,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
