Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January this year Christies in New York held the auction From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection, which included the work Mary Ann by Fitz Henry Lane. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,900.00 (€ 75,428.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fitz Henry Lane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Golden Rule in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,966,000.00 (€ 4,251,715.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mary Ann von Fitz Henry Lane zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 81.900,00 (€ 75.428,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fitz Henry Lane erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Golden Rule im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.966.000,00 (€ 4.251.715,27).
