A top price for Francesco de Rosa - as previously expected
In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Saint Agnes by Francesco de Rosa. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,182.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Saint Agnes is the most expensive artwork by Francesco de Rosa that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Agnes von Francesco de Rosa zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.637,50 (€ 12.182,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Saint Agnes das teuerste Kunstwerk von Francesco de Rosa, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
