Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rocky Outcrop In A Forest by Francesco Gonin was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,390.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Gonin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy (1820-1878); and Portrait of Maria Adelaide of Austria, Queen of Italy (1822-1855) in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,075.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rocky Outcrop In A Forest von Francesco Gonin im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.390,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Gonin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy (1820-1878); and Portrait of Maria Adelaide of Austria, Queen of Italy (1822-1855) im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 39.075,84).
