In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Francesco Scavullo: No End to Beauty, which included the work Arnold Schwarzenegger by Francesco Scavullo. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,840.37) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco Scavullo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Janis Joplin, 1969 in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 21,204.54).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Francesco Scavullo: No End to Beauty durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arnold Schwarzenegger von Francesco Scavullo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.840,37) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Scavullo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Janis Joplin, 1969 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 21.204,54).
