Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,300.00 (€ 1,147.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Hopkinson Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scene in Venice in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 45,000.00 (€ 33,449.79).
