Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work Repentance by Francisco de Goya. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 959,650.00 (€ 1,219,246.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francisco de Goya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Doña María Vicenta Barruso Valdés, seated on a sofa with a lap-dog; and Portrait of her mother Doña Leonora Antonia Valdés de Barruso, seated on a chair holding a fan in January this year with an auction result of USD 16,420,000.00 (€ 15,122,490.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Repentance von Francisco de Goya zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 959.650,00 (€ 1.219.246,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francisco de Goya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Doña María Vicenta Barruso Valdés, seated on a sofa with a lap-dog; and Portrait of her mother Doña Leonora Antonia Valdés de Barruso, seated on a chair holding a fan im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.420.000,00 (€ 15.122.490,33).
