The work The Spanish paddle frigate Hernan Cortes towing the Amistad into port, 3rd December, 1872 by Francisco Vidal was sold in the Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,767.50 (€ 11,162.32), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francisco Vidal; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Icarus Chocolate sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,228.11).

Die Arbeit The Spanish paddle frigate Hernan Cortes towing the Amistad into port, 3rd December, 1872 von Francisco Vidal wurde im Juni 2003 in der Auktion Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.767,50 (€ 11.162,32) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Francisco Vidal; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Icarus Chocolate im Mai 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.228,11).
