Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The French Postal Service's paddle packet Léonidas in a heavy swell off the Mediterranean coast by François-Geoffroy Roux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,228.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François-Geoffroy Roux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The French barque Sénégambie in Mediterranean waters off Marseilles, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,696.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The French Postal Service's paddle packet Léonidas in a heavy swell off the Mediterranean coast von François-Geoffroy Roux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.228,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
