The work Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a burgundy dress, holding flowers, in a landscape by Frans van der Mijn was worth GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,779.93) to a buyer in February 2004. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Pictures at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Frans van der Mijn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A lady in a landscape with a fly on her shoulder: an Allegory of Touch in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,999.92).
