Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A Wooded Landscape With Venus, Adonis And Cupid by Frans Wouters. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,751.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Wouters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Three Graces, which sold at auction in April 2002 for GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,417.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Venus, Adonis And Cupid von Frans Wouters zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.751,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Wouters mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Three Graces beobachtet, die im April 2002 für GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.417,91) versteigert wurde.
