Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Galerie d'Apollon, of the Louvre by Franz Alt was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,283.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Alt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venezianischer Platz, which sold at auction in March 2007 for EUR 15,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Galerie d'Apollon, of the Louvre von Franz Alt wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.283,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Alt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venezianischer Platz beobachtet, die im März 2007 für EUR 15.600,00 versteigert wurde.
