Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alec Well (Bow River) by Freddy Timms was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. The price achieved of AUD 9,600 (€ 5,435) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as AUD 8,000 - 12,000. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Freddy Timms - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in November 2007 for AUD 26,400 (€ 15,903).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Alec Well (Bow River) von Freddy Timms wurde im Juli 2009 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.600 (€ 5.435) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000 – 12.000 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Freddy Timms mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im November 2007 für AUD 26.400 (€ 15.903) versteigert wurde.
