Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For Solitude by Frederic Leighton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,125.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Hours in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,274,500.00 (€ 3,930,468.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study For Solitude von Frederic Leighton kam im Dezember 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.125,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederic Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Hours im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.274.500,00 (€ 3.930.468,55).
