In October 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work La reine Bacchanal by Fritz Zuber-Bühler. The »bidding war« ended at USD 204,000.00 (€ 240,395.95), 36% above the upper estimate. With this result, La reine Bacchanal is even the most expensive work of art by Fritz Zuber-Bühler that we have observed at auctions so far.
