Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Tiger by Gao Qifeng. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 2,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 302,049.93). Admittedly, works by Gao Qifeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roaring Lion in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 15,640,000.00 (€ 1,454,621.49).
