Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Geums, roses, parrot tulips, chrysanthemums, sunflower and other flowers in an architectural setting, with a gourd, grapes, peaches, plums, a pomegranate and other fruit with parrots by Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen the Younger was sold in the European Noble & Private Collections auction at Christies in London in April 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,031.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, roses, carnations, lilies, chrysanthemums and other flowers in an urn on a stone ledge, a bough of oranges, pears, grapes, cherries, nectarines and plums above, which sold at auction in December 2001 for GBP 52,875.00 (€ 86,390.42
