Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work 'Hallo Old Boy'; The Refusal (Illustrated); And 'Too Much Familiarity Breeds Contemptory' by George Finch Mason was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 275.00 (€ 304.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Finch Mason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London To Norwich Coach With A Hunt Beyond in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,595.01).
