Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Homage a Rubens by George Grosz was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Il Ponte in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Grosz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gefährliche Straße in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 9,740,250.00 (€ 11,288,971.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Homage a Rubens von George Grosz wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei Il Ponte versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.300,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Grosz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gefährliche Straße im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.740.250,00 (€ 11.288.971,84).
