A top price for George Nakashima - as previously expected
In May 2010 Phillips in New York held the auction The Collection of Halsey Minor, which included the work Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table by George Nakashima. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 86,500.00 (€ 69,932.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table is the most expensive artwork by George Nakashima that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2010 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion The Collection of Halsey Minor durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table von George Nakashima zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 69.932,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table das teuerste Kunstwerk von George Nakashima, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
