Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French the Sultan'S Favorites by Georges Clairin was sold in the European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 27,812.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Clairin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Frou Frou, which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 62,344.14).

Die Arbeit French the Sultan'S Favorites von Georges Clairin wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 27.812,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Clairin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Frou Frou beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 62.344,14) versteigert wurde.
