Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Voilier dans la baie de cannes by Georges Ricard-Cordingley was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 620.01). Admittedly, works by Georges Ricard-Cordingley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishing Boats Close To Shore in January 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,836.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Voilier dans la baie de cannes von Georges Ricard-Cordingley im August 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 500,00 (€ 620,01) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Ricard-Cordingley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishing Boats Close To Shore im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.836,28).
