Admittedly, works by Georges Rouault have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fleurs décoratives in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 644,000.00 (€ 761,679.48).

Die Arbeit Christ À La Colonne von Georges Rouault kam im März 2016 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 169.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Rouault auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fleurs décoratives im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 644.000,00 (€ 761.679,48).
